The Star Trek character Captain James Kirk was fond of saying his ship would “boldly go where no man has gone before.” Now, the actor who played him has gone, well, where many seem to be going. William Shatner has blasted off into space.
Shatner was joined by three others as they headed toward the final frontier. At 90, he became the oldest person ever to reach space.
The crew traveled up more than 100 kilometers. They experienced several minutes weightless in a flight that lasted just over 10 minutes. It was the second for tourists for Blue Origin, the company owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
