Shogi prodigy Sota Fujii won another title on Oct. 11, making history as the first player ever to hold all eight major titles. The 21-year-old took the Oza crown, having won Game 4 to finish the best-of-five match against 31-year-old Takuya Nagase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was a very valuable opportunity for me to be able to play for the eighth major title in this Oza series,\u201d Fujii said at a news conference in Kyoto. \u201cIt still really hasn\u2019t hit me yet (that I won the title) \u2013 that\u2019s my honest feeling right now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said on Oct. 12 that he is making preparations to give Fujii the Prime Minister\u2019s Award, with plans to hold the award ceremony in November. The award is given to people who have made significant achievements in various fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
