Dear Regular Readers,
Welcome to this week’s edition of our newsletter and I hope you find something in it worth reading.
News wise, quite a few things have happened in the world since I put fingers to keys last Friday: Boris Johnson (the British PM) looks like his constant questionable behaviour, in particular his telling of untruths. A recent good example of Mr Johnson’s inability to tell the truth centers on the party in 10 Downing Street that he said he never attended (when in actual fact he did attend it) during the time the UK was in lockdown back in May 2020. It looks like his dislike of telling the truth will finally get the better of him. Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of the opposition party, recently told Boris Johnson in the House of Commons that he was a hypocrite and as such he should resign. It also seem that there are a few members of the conservative party that are also keen to see the back of Boris, but of course there has to be enough of them to form a majority otherwise he will remain at the helm. Another story currently gripping the headlines concerns the civil lawsuit that Virginia Giuffre has filed against Prince Andrew for the sexual abuse she suffered at his hands when she was 17 years old. It seems that Ms Guiffre has no intention of accepting an ‘out of court settlement’ as she has recently stated that she “wants her day in court”. As a result of the judge in charge of the lawsuit (Judge Kaplan) allowing Ms Giuffre to go ahead with her case Prince Andrew has had all his royal patronages and military affiliations taken away from him with his mum’s (the Queen’s )approval. It seems the only way out for Andrew will be to fight the case in court and hope that he is found not guilty, especially after Ms Giuffre recently tweeted that “My goal has always been to show that the rich and powerful are not above the law & must be held accountable,” If you have an interest in wanting to read about this in more detail, please click on the following link:
Until next week, have a good weekend and stay safe.
